Thinking back on my art school days (San Francisco Art Institute, First Life), performance art classes were always the weirdest and most interesting as a total experience. You had the folks setting themselves in fire, jumping off of buildings, doing tea ceremonies with tea they claimed was drugged. Once a student even stabbed an instructor. So in that spirit, Andres ventures forth in SL to do performance art in various public spaces. Below is a collection of video documentation of past performances, often involving a kinetic sculpture and animated gestures (both my invention.) Sky Dance with Organics, 03/06/2007
This first performance involves the organic, aquatic creature entities which become part of my own avatar’s appearance. I imagine an ocean space being transplanted into the sky like some sci-fi scene where life forms no longer exist in their past habitats. I dance with the organics and become one with them.
