A truly unique opportunity has fallen in the laps of sl artists this week! Last week I first found out about this sl-to-rl hybrid show on the NPIRL blog where the Brooklyn gallery Jack the Pelican (gotta love the name), has organized an open-to-all show in their sim - cleverly dubbed “Brooklyn is Watching”. They’re literally “watching” since they have a scripted bot-av to follow and watch us as we build and interact in the space. Jack the Pelican art patrons pop into the gallery and get a taste of virtual art as it happens over a full year. Week one has just finished and it’s been lot of fun for me to create alongside (and maxxing the prim count) of Dancoyote Antonelli, Sabine Stonebender and Selavy Oh. The av in charge of the show Jay Newt writes about the goings-on in his blog and DC just got a good writeup yesterday. Looking forward to the months ahead and wondering when the rl artists at the gallery will take the plunge and join us in making sl art history. To all you sl creators out there: come on over and set up some art. Cuz Brooklyn really is watching!
Really nice set of pictures just in time for the podcast which we’ll record tonight- and will try to have up on the web in less than a day…
